The International Herald Tribune reports on the continued and increasingly more fierce Israeli air strikes on Lebanon:
Beirut Israel extended punishing airstrikes deeper inside Lebanon on Friday, as President George W. Bush rebuffed a Lebanese request that he push Israel for a cease-fire.I mean it's not a complete I told you so, as Hezbollah continues to fire rockets into Israel, making it more of a war than a public beating. Still, it's kind of like watching an overrated minor league hockey team take on the Stanley Cup Champs; painful.
Israeli warplanes hit areas in Beirut's suburbs that are linked to the militant group Hezbollah, cut the main highway between the capital and Damascus, and struck power plants near Beirut and a Palestinian training camp near the Syrian border.
